About

Built around the three places estates actually fail

Not a template shop and not a crypto product. A practice for estates that touch more than one legal system.

Why this practice exists

Two things happened to inheritance in the same decade. Families became international faster than their wills did - a house abroad, an offshore pension, heirs in three countries, obligations under a second legal system. And wealth started living in places that have no branch, no statement and no way in without a key.

The professions split along the old lines. Will-writers do domestic wills. International private client work sits with large firms at prices most families will not pay. And the digital-asset problem is largely being sold as a technology product by people who do not draft wills. Almost nobody is joining the three together, which is where the failures happen.

What we do

  • Cross-border wills and estate structuring across the UK, the EU, the Gulf, South Asia and the United States.
  • Shariah-compliant wills drafted as valid English instruments.
  • Digital and crypto-asset succession - drafting, inventories and access architecture.
  • Probate and estate administration, including resealing and ancillary grants.
  • Specialist support to other will-writers, accountants and advisers on referral.

What we do not do

We are not a firm of solicitors and do not carry out reserved legal activities under the Legal Services Act 2007. We do not conduct litigation, appear as advocates, or take on contentious probate. We do not give investment advice, and we do not hold client money for investment. When a matter needs a regulated practitioner we say so at once and refer it on - which is more useful to you than a slow discovery six months in.

Credentials

Professional body

STEP Affiliate Member

Membership number 302475, approved 3 September 2026. The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners is the global professional body for practitioners in family inheritance and succession planning - "advising families across generations". Affiliate is the entry grade, held while working towards full practitioner status, and we describe it as exactly that rather than implying more.

STEP will confirm the membership on request. We publish the number so you can check rather than take our word for it.

Structure

Sole practitioner

iProbate is a trading name of a self-employed practice, not a limited company. That is stated plainly rather than dressed up: there is no company number to look up, and you are dealing with one named person throughout rather than being passed down a file chain.

We hold no other professional-body memberships and display no badges we have not earned. If that changes, this page changes with it.

How we charge

Fixed fees, quoted in writing before work starts. Cross-border matters sometimes need foreign lawyers or notaries; their fees are separate and disclosed before they are incurred. The first consultation is free, and if the honest answer is that you do not need us, that is what you will be told on it.

Find out where your estate breaks

Twelve questions, two minutes, no account. The cross-border risk check flags the jurisdictions, the forced-heirship traps and the digital assets your current arrangements will not carry across.
